Norah & her Surgery...

Our sweet girl is growing fast, and last week she was spayed...We were torn for a while about whether or not we wanted to get her fixed, but after careful thought, we decided that would probably be the best choice for us. Of course right after it was done, I told Jake I was sad that she would never have the chance to have puppies...HaHa. Seems silly, I know. In the end I know we will have made the right choice. She did great with everything. She was a little loopy and pitiful for a few hours after we got her home, but I just laid down with her and she slept for most of it. The first night after the surgery we were like a bunch of paranoid parents! HaHa! I look back and laugh at what we did now...We got her old crate (that she can barely turn around in) and Jake rigged it up on top of her big kennel, wedged it against the foot of our bed, and then we slept with our heads at the foot of the bed so we could hear her and see her if she started biting at her incision line. It was a rough night, but we made it through!! HaHa! Who ever said that having a dog isn't a true "warmer-upper" for parenthood, either didn't have a dog, or they weren't as crazy as we are, I guess. We've thoroughly enjoyed having her, but it definitely gives you a glimpse of future responsibility. Luckily for us right now, if we want a date night or some time alone, in the kennel she goes! One of the luxuries that separates doghood from parenthood. We go back to the doc tomorrow, a week after the surgery, to make sure everything is healing like it should! From the second day though, you would have never thought this little girl had a pretty big surgery! She is full of energy, that is for sure!!
Here are a few pictures of the girl as of late...Enjoy!

This is right when we got her home...She was pitifully tired...haha.

She has to be right where you are, whenever possible!

..:A Weekend of Randomness:..

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I would back track a little bit and show what the Harvell's have been up to for the past few weeks! The boys, Jake and Andrew, are working on a project to build a wine rack for all this wine that they have been making. I should have been documenting and photographing all there many projects a little better, but for some reason, I didn't think about it. For a little update, they have made 3 different batches of wine and 1 batch of mead (made from honey). They started all this last year before our wedding, after their interest was peaked when one of Jake's friends from high school made some wine from Welch's grape juice. They thought it was an awesome concept, and the wine tasted pretty good...thus begun their new hobby of wine making. Leakhena and I have spent many days listening to their ramblings about wine and all the varieties and ways it can be made. We have endured their numerous trips to the brewing store, spending a little here, and a little there to get their supplies to be "real" "home brewers." They have become quite the wine connoisseurs, and they have tickled themselves at the success they have had in doing so. I have to admit, not being much of a wine drinker myself, that their wine is pretty tasty. More than anything, Lek and I have enjoyed watching them enjoy something together, and even more, we've enjoyed watching their friendship grow. It's nice when one of your best friend's husband is good friends with your husband! Makes things so much easier! HaHa! So needless to say, we put up with their hobby, realize there could be WAY worse hobbies, and we half enjoy it when our weekends revolve around doing something to the wine that's brewing, getting more wine supplies, or bottling up the next batch. It kind of makes me laugh and smile inside...
These pictures of from a few weekends ago when they first started getting all the pieces of wood sanded and stained, prior to assembly. They even convinced Lek and I to help out...or maybe we just wanted to make sure it was done right. ;-) I also threw in a picture from when Sue's granddaughters came over to pay Miss Norah a visit! They were so cute with her. I think she was a little overwhelmed but she loves little ones once she gets over the fear factor of them all being in her face at once! They were so cute! I have more to catch up on! I hope to get a chance soon to post everything! Jake and I are so blessed, and we are thankful to be able to live our lives fully and freely in the love of God! We serve an awesome and mighty God who knows just what we need! We hope everyone is doing well! We thank the Lord for each and every one of our family and friends! You are definitely blessings that we count daily! More pictures and updates coming soon!
With Love... J & K

Our Weekend Enjoying God's Creation

We enjoyed our time this past weekend, seeing the mountains and hitting a few tourists spots while we were in Tennessee! We stayed in Gatlinburg and enjoyed a day of shopping and site seeing. The mountains were beautiful. God's creation never ceases to amaze me. Some mountains still covered in a dusting of snow! We were also just glad to get away for a weekend and enjoy some alone time. On our way home on Sunday, we made a stop in Chattanooga to visit Ruby Falls and Rock City. Both places were great and we had an awesome day enjoying the beautiful weather! God is so good and He knows just what we need...Here are some pictures from the trip.

Here is a quick picture of The Ruby Falls. I have several other pictures, but I'm honestly tired of uploading pictures! HaHa! It was truly beautiful! The largest underground waterfall in the world! 145 feet tall! Amazing!

We hope you all have had a wonderful week and have a great weekend! God is good and worthy of our praise!

Norah...Looking Big These Days

Norah got a big girl hair cut this past week, and she looks so big. She also tried out her new life jacket we got her for this summer! She looks so cute in it, but I'm not sure how well she likes it! We're out of town this weekend, so she's getting to spend some time with her bud Jolie (my parents schnauzer). Mom said they've been having a great time, but they get a little hyper. She had to separate them earlier today and make them lay down on separate pieces of furniture. She said they looked at her like, "what?" I'm glad that she is having a good time! I'll post some pictures from our trip later on!
Here are some pictures of our sweet girl!

We hope you all are doing well, life is grand, and you are feeling blessed today!
Much Love from the Harvell's!
